 Fresh from graduating from Aviation Career and Tech High School in Long Island, N.Y. in ’65, Gilberto was hired by Pan American Airlines. He attend various aircraft training such as 707, DC-8, etc. His career at Pan AM was temporarily interrupted by his draft into the US Army during the Viet Nam War where he gained experience in Army helicopters, Hueys and Cobras and training troops at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Ga.

After his honorable discharge, Gil resumed his employment at Pan Am advancing as A & P Technician servicing and overhauling JT-3d, JT-4 and Jt-8 engines and advancing to A & P Line Technician for arrivals and departures while managing to obtain his private IFR pilot license.

The Fuel crisis in 1974 interrupted his Pan Am advancement and Gil accept a position with Grumman American Corp, Savannah, GA as an A & P Technical for GI and G II aircraft. Two years later PanAm’s requested his to return to JFK.

Gil returned to Savannah and resume his relationship with Gulfstream Aerospace Corp, formally Grumman American, and continued his advancement within Gulfstream. His tenure provided a wealth of exposure to all technical aspects of the development, production, maintenance of the Gulfstream fleet, also the senior crew chief for the GIV flight test and certification.

His years in Field Service gave him the opportunity to become a most effective company emissary in developing and advancing in particular South American and Mexican markets honing his experience in diplomatic and logistic ability, global mobility and cultural diversity and only available in a few other professions. He was instrumental in the field service development making Gulfstream number one in product support.

His experience and certification on all the Gulfstream fleet from the GI through to the present G650 including his training in FAA Crash Site Investigation and Analysis, have provided Gil with an indisputable edge of expertise and applicable skills is available to owners and operators on a consultant basis now that Chico unrestricted in his service availability.
